I love Earl Grey. Actually I wonder if he’s like that 50 Shades of… character?
I would so marry Earl Grey. I imagine him as a dashing Mr Darcy-esque character from ye olde England. Maybe on a horse, galloping through the English country side jumping over those stone fences that they have. Shirtless. But I digress…..
If I Marry the Earl what would that make me…..Lady Grey?
I used to think that people who drink Earl Grey were old ladies, going about their old lady business in the old fashion (read: daggy) ways.
Now I know how wrong I was. I can’t actually remember the time…or the cup that turned me from being a purely coffee drinker to not only tea, but the bergamotty goodness that is….The Earl.
And…the best thing is. I am so not the only one. The more people I tell I am an earl drinker or ask if they have earl grey in their cupboard, the more people I know who are just as addicted to the stuff as I am. (Although I do carry spare Earl teabags in my handbag just in case.)
I drink mine weak and sweet. Only 8 dunklets of the teabag with 1 teaspoon of sugar. If I can taste any tea ‘bitterness’ the cup has been ruined……overbrewed.
I don’t know how to describe it….sweet, florally, fragrant. I don’t know about adjectives.
It’s comfort and relaxation in a cup. It’s fail safe. Never lets me down. There for me when I need it. It never disappoints.
